Texas Canes baseball programs have proven success in how the game is taught, and played. The Canes approach is an aggressive competitive way to playing the game. We demand that while we teach a competitive approach to the game, the game and players must respect the game while developing the technical and fundamental aspects of the game.
Success and execution on the baseball field requires more than ability, players must develop an understanding of teamwork. In order to play “The Texas Canes Way”, players must clearly understand their assignments, and execute them according to and situation that develops on the field. Baseball IQ is a critical component for ones success in the game, and understanding situational baseball.
As a team member, it is your responsibility to learn your assignment, knowing what to do and being able to apply is the necessary skills of the “Texas Canes Way Of Success”.
The Texas Canes organization is to provide a positive and competitive environment for young athletes to learn and develop both on, and off, the field. Our mission is to instill a strong foundation for development based around respect, commitment, positive attitude, and hard work. Texas Canes emphasis is practicing like you play to ensure that every rep is taken as if in a live game situation.
We also run our program to maximize the exposure of our players by playing a competitive schedule, combined with strategic elite national & regional events. The common purpose of all Texas Canes coaches is to put players in a position to succeed, therefore gaining confidence with success and learning from failure. Texas Canes plays a very competitive schedule that requires a high level of travel and family commitment.
Texas Canes coaching staff brings a a history of baseball background and passion to teach the game. The staff members experience range from College to the Major Leagues. As an organization, we develop skills through fundamentals and repetitions, playing the game the correct way. We compete with the sense of urgency and positive mindset showing our dedication to the game of baseball.
